Gut & Digestive Health

Getting to the root of your digestive symptoms

Bloating, reflux, abdominal discomfort, constipation and diarrhoea can significantly affect everyday life. And while many people receive a diagnosis of IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome), that doesn't always explain why they're experiencing these symptoms.

IBS is a broad diagnosis, and two people with similar symptoms may have very different triggers.

My approach is to look beyond the symptoms, explore what may be contributing to them and develop a personalised plan to support your digestive health.

What might we investigate?

  • Reflux and heartburn: Exploring dietary triggers, meal timing, digestive function and other possible contributing factors.
  • Food intolerances and sensitivities: Identifying potential dietary triggers without unnecessary restriction.
  • Digestive function: Considering digestive enzymes, stomach acid and how effectively you're digesting food.
  • Bowel habits: Exploring constipation, diarrhoea, fibre intake, hydration and gut motility.
  • Your gut microbiome: Investigating bacterial imbalances and conditions such as small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO), where appropriate.
  • The gut-brain connection: Understanding how stress, emotions and the nervous system influence digestion.

A personalised approach to gut health

There is much more to digestive health than avoiding certain foods or taking a probiotic.

Where appropriate, we may use NHS investigations, targeted testing or a structured food and symptom diary to build a clearer picture.

We'll also explore practical nutritional strategies, eating habits and lifestyle changes to help you feel more comfortable.

The aim is to identify what matters for you, support your digestive health and help you enjoy food with greater confidence and fewer unnecessary restrictions.
